John Le Carré is not a crime writer in the classic sense of the word, and The Night Manager is not the usual spy book. I wanted to avoid the typical spy/crime clichés that characterise so many books in this genre. I wanted to design a fresh, clever and contemporary cover for this book. The brief looked for a striking cover design that is well executed, has an imaginative concept and clearly places the book for it market. My cover works well on it's own, as well as on a screen at a reduced size for the digital retailers.
